$249 million Blanket Purchase Agreement funding vehicle to allow Edge Case to deploy its industry-leading expertise and software to build safer AI systems for federal agencies

Edge Case Defense is proud to announce that it has been selected to receive a T&E BPA (Blanket Purchase Agreement) to support the U.S. Department of Defense’s Joint Artificial Intelligence Center (JAIC). This award allows Edge Case Defense to easily offer its software and lifecycle System Safety Engineering services to DoD and other federal government customers.

The JAIC’s focus is to enable the implementation of machine learning applications within DoD. This contract vehicle positions the DoD to efficiently and flexibly engage with Edge Case and other companies to support testing and evaluation of autonomous systems. Its focus on AI Test and Evaluation solutions and Independent Verification & Validation services fit seamlessly into Edge Case Defense’s core competence. It also represents significant, long-term codevelopment opportunities to further develop our technology to expand our reach both inside and outside the federal government.

Since 2015 Edge Case Research has been engaged in helping our partners in the DoD as well as prime contractors to build safety into autonomous vehicles and other complex software systems. Our team’s unparalleled expertise in both autonomous system safety and the MIL-STD-882E standard deliver high-quality risk assessments and smart hazard mitigations to autonomous vehicle programs like Expedient Leader-Follower (ExLF).

Edge Case has received over $15 million in prior R&D funding to develop T&E software in partnership with entities like TRMC. Our nLoop live safety case software supports risk assessments of autonomous systems by providing safety argumentation support and provides a way to monitor level of rigor evidence data from a variety of sources.
